Original vintage painting by Phyllis Wiener, but from the period between 1939 and 1961 when she signed her work as Phyllis Downs. Wiener was an early and important painter in the abstract art scene in Minnesota and has deeply influenced subsequent generations of women painters.
This work is titled ‘The Smoked Cisco‘ and is an excellent example of her work from the period. It measures about 30 inches by 36 inches in frame and is in excellent condition.
